Max has an eclectic background in the sciences that has exposed him to some pretty cool technology. As an undergraduate at Colby College he used fluorescence and confocal microscopes to image neurons. He then worked for various conservation organizations using GPS, thermal, and imaging sensors to map forests and remotely observe avian behavior. Later he received his master's degree from Oxford University, where he spent time using various computer programs to build statistical models. His passion for equipment testing extends into his free time as well, as he spends hours tinkering with his road bike, researching what climbing gear will best be able to drag him up mountains, and determining which evaporators make the best homemade maple syrup.
