Ethan earned a B.A. in Adventure Education with a minor in Journalism at Prescott College in 2013. Since then, he's done a little bit of everything. He's worked as an arborist, a wilderness ranger and wildland firefighter for the National Park Service, freelance journalist, professional climbing and canyoneering guide, to name a few. He's also spent hundreds of hours volunteering on various sustainable construction projects, including helping build Florida's first Earthship and building innovative composting toilets in the Patagonian backcountry with Patagonia Waste Management. Ethan's passion for conservation and wild places has led him down unexpected roads, each with their own learning opportunities. Every new project brings their own new skill, enabling Ethan to share his expertise on everything from safety equipment to home goods to clothing. When he's not working, Ethan spends much of his time exploring the backcountry of southwest Utah.
