KBS Pro MBF-010 Review
Pros: Bread comes out looking fantastic, great at mixing
Cons: Interface can be a bit distracting, little on the heavy side
Our Analysis and Test Results
The KBS Pro MBF-010 did very well in our trio of bread quality tests, making excellent loaves of white, wheat, and gluten-free bread. Overall, we liked that this bread maker did a great job of consistently mixing all of the ingredients when creating the dough. It has a non-stick ceramic bread pan and overall made some of the most aesthetically pleasing loaves with a consistently browned crust. This machine didn't have any problem kneading the dough for the most part and could usually incorporate all the ingredients.
The white bread came out with a very medium crust without any unincorporated flour on the outside of the loaf. The wheat bread also came out very nice, with a very even color all around.
This machine did struggle slightly more with the gluten-free loaf of bread but not by all that much. It kneaded the dough easily enough but left a small amount of unincorporated corn starch on the outside of the loaf.
The top crust was also just a tiny bit lighter than the rest of the loaf. However, the KBS Pro MBF-010 still produced one of the best gluten-free breads of the entire group.
Ease of Use
Next, we compared and scored how easy and convenient each of these appliances are to operate. The KBS Pro MBF-010 again did very well, impressing us by delivering one of the better performances of the entire group.
This machine includes a measuring cup and a set of measuring spoons, as well as a hook for getting the stirrer rod out and a set of recipes. We like that this machine has a bread pan that locks into the machine, making it much easier to remove the bread once it's done baking. The kneading paddle also remained in the machine most of the time when you pulled out the bread.
This pan also is rated as dishwasher-safe and you have the option of selecting between a 1, 1.5, or 2 pound loaf of bread. However, this machine is a little on the heavier side compared to some of the other options, weighing just under 15 pounds.
Our last round of tests looked at all the different features and functions that the KBS Pro MBF-010 has. It again did well, delivering another premium performance. This bread machine has 17 different menu settings (soft bread, sweet bread, natural sourdough, french, whole-wheat, quick, sugar-free, multigrain, milky loaf, cake, raw dough, leaven dough, jam, bake, yogurt, gluten-free, ferment) as well as a fruit and nut dispenser for adding mix-ins.
It also has a 13-hour delay timer so you can ensure you can have fresh-baked bread right when you wake up or sit down to dinner, as well as a keep warm setting in case you are eating a little later than planned. We also like that there is a 15-minute memory in case you lose power or accidentally unplug it while in operation.
While the KBS Pro MBF-010 isn't the most inexpensive bread machine we have tested, it is quite a bit less expensive than some of the top-tier machines. This makes it a good value if you are looking for a premium machine but still trying to keep your budget in mind.
All in all, we found very few things wrong with this bread maker. The KBS Pro MBF-010 did well in the majority of our tests and we would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a premium product when it comes to these appliances.
