Meriting one of the best scores overall, the Omega J8006HDS is easily our first choice when it comes to masticating juicers. This appliance powers through all sorts of produce with ease, generating particularly high juice yields for soft produce and for leafy greens, which are some of the hardest things to juice. The J8006HDS makes excellent blended juice concoctions and is particularly easy to clean. It can't quite match some of the centrifugal juicers when it comes to hard produce yield but you still should get a decent amount of juice — you just might need to buy an extra carrot or beet to yield the same amount. All this performance does come at a bit of a premium price but we think it is well worth if you are looking for a top-of-the-line masticating model.

Our Analysis and Test Results
This product from Omega is big burly juicer with heavy-duty construction and seems more durable than many of the other models we have reviewed. It isn't the most stylish appliance out there but it gets the job done — and you can even make noodles or sorbet with it!
We bought all the most promising juicers that you can get on the market today, then pitted them against each other in a series of side-by-side tests to find out for ourselves which one is truly the best. We split our testing process into five weighted groups of tests, with the Omega J8006HDS results outlined in the text below.
An obvious first place to start when rating and ranking these products, juice quality accounts for 25% of the overall score for each of these juicing machines. In this metric, we made a variety of different blended juice beverages with the Omega, then had a panel of taste testers score and compare the taste, texture, and quality of each drink. The J8006HDS did exceptionally well, earning an 8 out of 10 for its top-notch juicing performance.
The J8006HDS made excellent blended juice drinks, creating beverages that were incredibly rich in flavors and overall tasted great. The drinks had great color that matched the original produce and the beverage stayed very homogeneous and didn't immediately separate.
There was still some small amounts of pulp present and the mixture was a little foamy, but the J8006HDS is, hands-down, our go-to when it comes to making juice cocktails.
Our next three metrics all focused on how much juice the Omega generated with different types of produce, which each account for 20% of this juicer's final score. For our soft produce metric, we juiced things like cucumbers, celery, oranges, and apples and compared the amount of liquid created by each appliance to determine the score. The Omega Nutrition Center delivered another impeccable set of results, earning a 7 out of 10 for its soft produce juicing performance.
This appliance knocked it out of the park when it came to juicing apples, having one of the highest yields of the entire group. There was essentially zero pulp and no separation, with only a quarter-inch or so of foam at the top of the glass. The Omega also did a fantastic job at juicing oranges, generating tons of juice — well above the average amount — with only mild amounts of pulp.
The performance of the Omega J8006HDS did drop a little when it came to juicing celery and cucumbers. The celery juice was dark green with very little foam and no separation but the overall yield was relatively average. It did even worse with the cucumbers, yielding an amount that was decently below the group average.
Overall, the performance of the J8006HDS left a little bit to be desired when it came to juicing hard produce. For this metric, we juiced carrots, beets, and sweet potatoes in the Omega to compare the yield. Unfortunately, we found that this appliance generally yielded a below-average amount of juice, which earned this juicer a 4 out of 10.
The carrot juice made by the J8006HDS only had trace amounts of pulp and no foam but it yielded about 15 mL less juice than the average amount made by the group of juicers in the review. The beet juice also had very little foam but did have more pulp than the carrot juice, with the yield being about 20 mL below average.
The J8006HDS performed very similarly in our sweet potato tests, again yielding about 15 mL less juice than average. The juice had a tiny bit of foam and mild to moderate amounts of pulp.
While the Omega J8006HDS might not have done the best at juicing hard produce, its performance rebounded considerably in our leafy greens metric. This juicer earned an 8 out of 10 — one of the top scores of the entire group. This score was determined based on the J8006HDS's performance when it came to juicing wheatgrass, kale, and spinach — all of which are notorious for being much more difficult to juice than other types of produce.
The J8006HDS got off to a fantastic start when it came to juicing wheatgrass, generating one of the highest yields of the entire group of juicers that we tested.
The Omega J8006HDS also did extremely well when it came to juicing spinach, yielding an amount of juice that was well above average, but this juice did have about a half-inch of foam at the top of the glass.
However, this appliance couldn't quite carry its stellar performance through this entire metric and faltered a little bit with the kale. It didn't struggle with this cruciferous vegetable but did generate just a little bit less juice than average.
Our last group of tests are responsible for the remaining 10% of the Omega Nutrition Center's overall score and focused on how much effort it takes to clean out the machine once you are done juicing. To award scores, we compared how easy all the parts of the juicer are to clean, if there is an included cleaning tool, and if the various components are safe to put in the dishwasher. The J8006HDS delivered another excellent set of results, earning a 9 out of 10.
This juicer from Omega includes a quality brush that should last and is fairly easy to clean. We did find that it is usually easier to just soak the filter rather than try and clean it if the pulp dries on. The auger is phenomenally easy to clean and produce pulp hardly ever accumulates anywhere where it is too difficult to get to.
On top of that, the components that need to be washed are safe for the top shelf in the dishwasher, which is quite handy.
While we think the J8006HDS is a phenomenal product, it isn't necessarily the best bet if you are shopping on a budget. It pairs its top-notch performance with a high-end price, so budget-conscious shoppers might want to consider some other options.
If you are looking for an A+ masticating juicer that is truly the best of the best, then you are definitely going to want to check out the Omega J8006HDS. It does a great job juicing soft produce and leafy greens, without being a pain to clean.
