Growing up in a vivacious home in rural Minnesota, Ryan Anhorn learned a few things at an early age: a deep appreciation for music, dance, and how the right beverage can amplify these already intoxicating effects. The youngest of three sons by two "gotta have a good time" parents, Ryan was immersed into the arena of adult beverages at the earliest legal age. Whether it was watching his father's cover band play at the local Eagle's Club or his parents having company many nights of the week for beer and salty snacks, Ryan's love of suds was basically engrained. After graduating with a degree in journalism from the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis, working at bars and restaurants, and then doing some world traveling, Ryan was given the unique opportunity to help start Bauhaus Brew Labs of Minneapolis, MN in 2014, and wear basically every hat you can think to find in a brewery. From conducting tastings, dinner pairings, or slinging pints in the taproom, his love and appreciation of the liquid grains were cemented. Following a move to Los Angeles in 2018, Ryan became an events ambassador to Firestone Walker, where his duties included ensuring every patron of every greater-LA beer festival left educated, heard, and buzzed. Now residing in Albuquerque, NM, Ryan's thirst for the local beer scene is again reignited with a plethora of amazing places to visit and support. When not tipping glass, you can find Ryan playing guitar in his cover band Viva Kneivel, hiking the Sandia Mountains, or hitting the local flea markets with an unparalleled intensity.
