Chris is the founder of TechGearLab and serves as Editor-in-Chief. A lifelong gear-guy, Chris is an accomplished author, adventurer, and entrepreneur. In 2010, he started OutdoorGearLab, which has since become the most popular and highly regarded outdoor gear review website. At OutdoorGearLab, Chris personally authored numerous tech product reviews, including portable solar chargers, external batteries, electric skateboards, and Personal Locator Beacons. His fascination with tech gear started in high school, when he became obsessed with state-of-the-art big wall rock climbing gear and its X-Men power to allow a human to climb impossible cliffs. Within three years, Chris had become a rock gear master, one of the world's best big wall rock climbers, climbing Yosemite's 3,000 foot El Capitan over 70 times and setting nine big wall speed climbing records. Chris's knack for gear and adventure led him to take up wingsuit BASE jumping, and hacking together his first wingsuit by sewing wing sections onto a Walmart sweatsuit. Chris surrounds himself with tech gear, whether it is his Fiat electric car, his smart-home, or his love for all things solar and electric-powered. He attended Princeton University (briefly before dropping out to climb cliffs in Yosemite), and eventually earned his Bachlor's degree from UC Berkeley.
