Ally Meller seamlessly tackles science with an air of free-spirited, Peter Pan-ness that is perfect for GearLab testers. She earned her Bachelor's degree in Kinesiology from Cal State Fullerton, which is where she found her knack for writing scientific lab reports. Her thirst for adventure and experiences inspired her to move over 20 times in her adult life. With each move, Ally garners more information about outfitting homes and the pros and cons of cutting corners in an effort to save a few bucks. Ally and her husband recently decided to settle down… in a 1997 RV that they gutted and renovated!

Ally's nit-picky eye for design and inability to settle for less than the most functional gear makes her a stellar home-gear reviewer. When she isn't writing gear reviews, poetry, or rhyming essays to make her friends laugh, she works as a personal trainer, group fitness instructor, and yoga teacher. Physical and mental fitness are pure joy to this exercise specialist. Ally can often be found geeking out over how to become more minimalistic, drinking insane amounts of coffee (to propel her ultramarathoning endeavors, of course), and reading anything written by Jon Krakauer.
